AAMGA Annual Meeting “Focused on the Future”… and the Present

One week from today, AAMGA President Tom Albrecht will welcome over 1,200 premier members of the wholesale insurance industry to the Association’s 82nd Annual Meeting at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Scottsdale, AZ to focus on business in a relaxed atmosphere. Registration materials and a list of attendees can be found on the AAMGA’s website, along with an impressive list of business vendors whose service offerings and representatives will be on hand to meet personally with attendees.

An advance copy of the AAMGA Daily News contains a first look at some of the many inviting events awaiting AAMGA members as the wholesale insurance community comes together for this annual important conference. The theme of the meeting is “Focused on the Future.” As the AAMGA’s many activities throughout the year sustain the momentum of the marketplace, the AAMGA Board has also been focused on the needs, opportunities and challenges of the future. These progress of these activities, and the Task Force assigned to work on them, will all be described at the meeting.

The AAMGA’s Agents & Brokers Lounge will also provide a suitable venue to enhance the business partnerships and relationships at the heart of the industry. Over 40 members will, comprising the AAMGA’s “Managing General Angels” will set out Saturday morning, May 17th on a full day motorcycle ride into the McDowell and Superstition Mountains, and through some remote mining ghost towns. Participants in the AAMGA University’s continuing education and professional development sessions on Sunday, May 18th will gain a keen understanding into commercial auto underwriting, insurance trends, and sustaining the cultures in agencies and companies among employees. The Opening Reception Sunday night will bring together old friends and new.

Chris Wallace of FoxNews will keynote Monday’s Opening Breakfast and provide insight on the presidential election campaign. Mr. Wallace will officially open the Business Trade Show with his own booth to meet and greet AAMGA members. A golf swing analyzer and clinic, over 65 trade and vendor booths, and the ever popular Trade Show luncheon, along with the Agents & Brokers Lounge will be open all day, with Company parties filling out the day that evening.

Vince Lombardi, Jr., will be part of the Annual Business Meeting, University Ceremony and Awards Presentation on Tuesday morning, May 20th. Mr. Lombardi will use his father’s football coaching secrets and advise attendees “How to be #1” in the insurance profession. The UFO Cocktail Reception, and the Agents & Brokers Lounge will complement the many business meetings taking place on the property.

The AAMGA’s annual golf and tennis tournaments will start Wednesday, May 21st off with a bang. The golf tournament is dedicated this year to the memory of AAMGA Past President Baron Garcia who passed on earlier this year after a courageous battle with cancer. Other AAMGA members will be enjoying the off-site tours, Agents & Brokers Lounge and other events until they come together at the Gala Dinner and entertainment with NBC Tonight Show host Jay Leno.
