New CIW Designations Awarded
The American Association of Managing General Agents is proud to announce two of its members have attained the Certified Insurance Wholesaler (CIW) designation. Francis Mastowski, CIW of Jimcor Agencies, CMGA in Montvale, NJ and Tripp Duesenberg, CIW of Southern Insurance Underwriters, CMGA in Alpharetta, GA, have been formally certified by the AAMGA University’s Accreditation Committee to receive the valuable distinction based on having completed the CIW requirements.
The Chartered Insurance Wholesaler (CIW) designation is coveted by wholesale industry professionals and the business partners who entrust their underwriting authority, or the exposures of their policyholders, into their care. Attaining the distinction is a process involving the expansion of the applicant taking underwriting and industry classes to enhance their capabilities and writing a White Paper on a specific project on wholesale insurance market operations or processes. Mr. Mastowski’s project and paper pertained to a background on industry practitioners and their unique roles within the wholesale insurance market. Mr. Duesenberg undertook a project and then wrote on the training and education of producers on the inner-workings of a managing general agent.
A complete guide to completing the CIW process can be found on the AAMGA’s website by clicking here. CIW designation holders must reapply every two (2) years in order to maintain the privilege of this market distinction.
Mr. Mastowski and Mr. Duesenberg now join the 46 other CIW’s in further strengthening the bench strength within their agencies and the Association overall.
