Louisiana - Senator Morrish Appointed to Chair Senate Insurance Committee

December 1, 2010

The Property & Casualty Insurance Association Reports Senator Dan “Blade” Morrish has been appointed to chair the Senate Insurance Committee.  Troy Hebert had recently resigned from the Senate and had been the chair of that committee for the last year or so.

PCI reports the change is a good one for the industry as Blade has a pro-business approach.  Morrish had been a member of the House Insurance Committee.  With Chuck Kleckley in the House and Morrish in the Senate, the ability of the industry to approach the leaders of the insurance committees with concerns and possible proactive efforts has strengthened.
